Junior Events Coordinator


The Junior Events Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all fundraising events hosted by the Foundation and to fulfill or exceed their fundraising goals. The Junior Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all other event related projects that attract funding for the Foundation such as Giveback Events, Spectrum Venue Rentals, and more.

This position will report to the Events Manager on a regular basis and will have office hours of Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM plus weekends and evenings where required. In addition, the Junior Events Coordinator will travel to some out of state events, schedule permitting. The below list of specific event tasks are examples of the obligations that this position will be asked to support.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Research community event calendars to ensure event location and date does not conflict with a competing event.
  • Add Els for Autism fundraising events to community event calendars (virtual and in-person).
  • Assist events team in creating an overall theme, décor plan, and event flow for each event.
  • Execution of all Giveback Event fundraisers.
  • Coordination of on campus rentals – Spectrum Venues. (evenings and weekends may be required)
  • Secure in-kind donations for events involving a ticket donation or auction.
  • Organize and create all materials for ticket drawing or auction using platforms such as Canva.
  • Solicit and secure in-kind donations for events involving a gift bag or attendee gift
  • Input and manage all in-kind donations in Donor Perfect database and ensure donors receive proper documentation post event (i.e., donation receipt).
  • Coordinate volunteer responsibilities and assignments by event.
  • Manage and maintain content on the E4AGolf.com website in collaboration with marketing team.
  • Assist with Golf Challenge administration tasks: add sponsor foursomes to RunSignUp, coordinate the event pairings, add sponsor logos to event sites, etc.
  • Create and manage shipping schedules for any offsite Golf Challenge events to ensure all items are shipped and received in a timely manner.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and receive incoming shipments.
  • Ensure data integrity between donor management and crowd funding software applications.
  • Review and merge event donor profiles on Donor Perfect on a regular basis.
  • Travel to any offsite events required by the Foundation
  • Assist with all other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Qualifications and Knowledge:
Education and Experience:

  • In pursuit of or have received a bachelor’s degree required (preferred degree fields: Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Nonprofit Management).
  • Event Internship experience preferred.

Registered Behavior-Technician (RBT)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment is individualized to meet the unique needs of each client in a group or individual setting. Areas of focus include communication, personal hygiene, and the following daily living skills: play, social, academic, independent living and vocational.

This position is responsible for all aspects of a client’s ABA program including initial intake, program development, implementation, assessment, and discharge. The Behavior Analyst will collaborate with individuals from a variety of disciplines as part of an integrated therapeutic team to present evidence-based methods for achieving the clients’ primary goals,

Day Program Personal Care Aide (P.C.A.)

Job Summary:


The Adult Day Program Personal Care Aide (PCA) works with graduate/doctoral level professionals and highly experienced staff in a team atmosphere to facilitate programs, provide direct supervision, and support participants in daily living skills.  The PCA will utilize evidence-based practices for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities to assist participants and carry out the goals of the program.  The PCA will need to be able to actively participate and assist participants during volunteer projects and instructional classes while out in the community and on-site. In addition, the PCA will actively participate in a variety of physical activities such as fitness, swimming, and golf.  The PCA will support clients in programs both at The Els Center of Excellence and during outings across community-based settings.

Vocational Training Specialist

The Els for Autism® Vocational Training Specialist will work with the Assistant Manager of Employment Programs to develop, plan, implement, and assess vocational programs for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. The Vocational Training Specialist will teach specific curriculum and courses that foster vocational skills in preparation for paid employment. Vocational training will take place at The Els Center of Excellence® campus in our state-of-the-art visually engineered vocational labs and across community-based settings.

Instructional Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize explicit and systematic instruction methods (i.e., preview, breaking down tasks, building on skills, group activities, review as appropriate).
  • Utilize applied behavior analytic strategies such as reinforcement, de-escalation techniques and data collection methods within instructional and behavior management procedures.
  • Utilize a system of systematic prompting from most to least for new skills and least to most for learned skills and fading strategies during skill acquisition, practice, and maintenance.
  • Create groupings and natural support systems to fit the needs of each participant (i.e. employee mentors, pairs, one-on-one)
  • Develop visual and communication supports for program participants and complete a referral for clinical services (e.g., applied behavior analysis, speech language therapy, mental health counseling) and support as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and refine curriculum materials for industries being taught; ensuring content is accessible, engaging, and tailored to the learning needs and targeted outcomes of adults with ASD.
  • Ensure self-determination activities are embedded as a foundation for services and supports within programs.
  • Administrative Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Create spaces and procedures in the classroom, on the campus, or in the community that ensures the safety of participants
  • Collaborate with Assistant Manager of Employment Programs to review individual support plans for each program participant.
  • Perform document reviews and review the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) for each participant frequently to ensure delivery of instruction matches individualized goals.
  • Administer assessments and collect data, as required by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and organized participant notes, attendance records and reports within each participant’s electronic medical record and in accordance with requirements set forth by APD, or other funding and regulatory agencies.
  • Attend support meetings for participants as scheduled by the Assistant Manager of Employment Programs.
  • Attend meetings and training offered by APD as assigned by the Assistant Manager of Employment Programs.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities as assigned.
  • Complete training required/offered by APD as a MedWaiver provider and additional training, as assigned.
  • Adhere to HIPAA standards while collecting, storing, and sharing electronic personal health information
  • Remain actively engaged supporting participants directly, modeling appropriate behaviors, and collaborating with community partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Developmental Disabilities, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in curriculum development for adults with autism and related developmental disabilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community-based instruction for individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License. 

 Preferred:

  • Training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • PCM Trained
  • Bilingual

  • Successfully complete two Level 2 Background Clearances, reference check & Pre-employment paperwork

P/T Occupational Specialist

You will have the opportunity to work with clients across the life span to make a lifetime of difference.

Typical duties include: Intake, evaluations, creation of intervention plans and programs in support of treatment and delivery. The integration of parent training into home programs is a key part of every treatment plan to include OT strategies for clients and their families. Incorporate communications and behavior strategies into therapy sessions.

Responsible for recommending and implementing environmental adaptions to promote success; Observe, note and perform data collection and compile reports. Participate in transdisciplinary clinical team meetings and consult across disciplines.

Position is 15-20 hours per week (Monday-Friday9A-5P) with flexible hours.

Work is on The Els Center for Excellence® Campus in a typical interior/work office with occasional outdoor events that could contain a moderate noise element.

Required Qualifications:

+ Masters degree in OT

+ Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with those on the autism spectrum

+ Licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health

+ Certification by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy

+ Knowledge of behavioral and communicative principles and techniques for individuals on the autism spectrum

+ Bilingual in Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese a plus

Speech/Language Pathologist

This position includes the implementation of speech-language intervention services for young children through adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related disabilities.

The SLP will:

Conduct intakes, administer assessments, and be responsible for program delivery.

Conduct parent training sessions to ensure parents are actively involved in the intervention.

May provide professional development training through live and online webinars and support the training and scheduling of university practicum students with oversight from the Lead SLP.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

All duties (e.g., communication support, consultation, and intervention) will be performed across programs, including early intervention, recreation, and adult services, the three primary impact areas at Els for Autism Foundation®. Speech-language services can occur both on and off campus.

+ Administer speech-language and augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) evaluations

+ Develop & implement speech-language treatment goals and objectives

+ Integrate parent training, parent involvement and communication with families across screenings, assessments, and treatment programs

+ Generate clinical reports and graphs

+ Provide consultation on communication strategies and supports to our Foundation’s programs

+ Provide technical support and consultation to The Learning Academy Palm Beach County Public Charter School housed on our campus on an as needed basis

+ Create necessary materials to support a variety of communicative needs to include AAC systems and strategies

+ Create and conduct professional development webinars for the E-TEAM learning series on an as needed basis

+ Support the training and scheduling of speech-language university practicum students with oversight from the Lead SLP and the Program Director

+ Work collaboratively with the program & services clinical team to develop new and innovative programs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Communicative Sciences, Communicative Sciences and Disorders, or in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active and in good standing Speech-Language Pathology License by the State of Florida Department of Health
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Minimum 1-year clinical experience in providing speech-language treatment that infuses behavioral principles/evidence-based practices for individuals with ASD
  • Demonstrated experience and rapport in working with a variety of age groups from birth-adulthood
  • Experience working collaboratively with related professionals and providers
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills – especially the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members
  • Demonstrated time-management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and data collection software for ABA programs
  • CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Valid Florida driver’s license or Florida Identification Card

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years clinical experience with individuals with ASD
  • Experience implementing speech-language treatment in naturalistic settings
  • Experience participating in research and presenting at local conferences or trainings
  • Bilingual
  • PCM trained

Employment Specialist / Job Coach

This full time salaried non-exempt position supports our Work Experience Programs and is highly collaborative with a focus on programs for transition aged youths and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. This position will utilize evidence-based practices to plan and teach activities that enable participants to increase communication and pre-vocational skills in preparation for paid employment.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

+ Conduct environmental assessment of worksite and develop visual and communication supports for program participants

+ Utilize evidence-based practices such as prompting and fading during skill acquisition, practice, and maintenance.

+ Create groupings and natural support systems to fit the needs of each participant

+ Collaborate with supervisor to conduct applicant interviews, situational assessments, and orientation.

+ Assist participants with resume writing, completing job applications, interviews, orientation and on the job support.

+ Collaborate with host worksite staff and management to ensure program fidelity.

+ Provide sensitivity training to employer partners and staff to ensure they learn effective strategies in supporting program participants

+ Serve as a liaison between participants, families, Foundation, and worksite staff.

+ Actively assist in acquiring paid employment leads in the community that fit the employment goals and needs of participants.

+ Support participants through completion of required assessments and daily progress notes.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Associate’s degree in education, Rehabilitation, Applied Behavior Analysis or related field

+ Minimum of two years of experience teaching/coaching individuals with ASD and other developmental disabilities
